Hello

My passion for crafting started at a young age. We had relatives in Beloit, WI that
helped raise my dad and we visited them every three weeks. During those visits, my
great-aunt showed me how to knit, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, and tatting. Of all,
the crocheting was the most enjoyable. I made many baby blankets and Afghans as
wedding presents over the years. But, life got too busy with raising children, working,
and taking care of family and I didn’t have the time for my favorite activity.

 

In 2018 I picked up some yarn and again got back to my crocheting. Then in 2019 my mother-in-
law passed away and I was gifted four tubs of yarn. For that Christmas, I made shawls,
scarves, and other items as family gifts to keep a memento of mom for all of us. And
that ignited my passion once again! I also found the Hobbii yarn company from
Denmark, with superior acrylic and cotton yarns that color change beautifully. Finding
patterns that enhance the beauty of this yarn encouraged me to seek out new and fun
patterns.

 

I also joined the Hooked on Sunshine Facebook group for more intricate
blanket patterns. This led me to start working at vendor fairs around the area which has
brought me pure joy. I love interacting with customers for either pre-made items or
special orders, especially since I have had the privilege of seeing return customers at
the fairs now in my second year. While I have been a home health caregiver, my
retirement is around the corner, which will give me more time for doing a craft I love.
Seeing pictures from customers who wear the shawls, or use the blankets is most
satisfying. I look forward to continuing to try new patterns and special requests which
will be featured on my website and vendor fairs!
